Super Reader Program – Summer Reading Kickoff
Remember that the 2013 Summer Reading Program begins Monday, May 13 but sign-up can be done throughout the spring and summer. Visit any Milwaukee Public Library to sign-up to become a Super Reader- all kids 0-12 years of age and their parents can participate. Receive a yard sign and earn food coupons, free admission to fun places around town and a free book. Pick
Lake Park Wildflower Walk on Mother’s Day
All are welcome to the traditional and ever popular Wildflower Walk in Lake Park on Sunday May 12 at 1:00 pm. Meet at the Warming House (2975 N. Lark Park Rd.) It is a great way to see the returning and newly planted Spring wildflowers with your mothers and others!

Maryland Avenue Montessori School is encouraging participation in Walk/Bike to School Day. Join children and adults around the nation to celebrate the benefits of bicycling and walking! Help Purge Lake Park of Garlic Mustard
Lake Park Friends is extending an invitation to all the users of Lake Park to help us in the eradication of Garlic Mustard in the ravines. Because it is not native and is very invasive, we have been working to eradicate it for many years. UWM Annual Hunger Cleanup
