Urgent – Liquor License Hearing for Former Bikesmith’s Location – This Friday @ 11:15AM

Bikesmith Liquor Store License – Your Action Needed (Again)

On May 19, MHNA sent out a notification about opportunities for public comment on two pending liquor license applications – a renewal at the Miramar Theatre and a NEW liquor license application for the former Bikesmith’s location for a proposed new business “Serenity420”.  Our original notification is available here as a reminder.

Many of you responded in May and contacted the License Division, however we just learned that a hearing has been scheduled for the new liquor license at the former Bikesmith’s location for this Friday, September 2.  The meeting begins at 9AM, but the estimated timeslot for this item is 11:15AM.

MHNA is opposed to this new liquor license, and the concept of a new tobacco and alcohol store, as well as to its hearing taking place when we have no aldermanic representative.  The MHNA board requests residents again take action to share your concerns at this license hearing.  You may attend in-person or virtually.  If you cannot attend the hearing, please consider sending written comment to the license committee.  Key information follows:

Again, please note the hearing is scheduled for this Friday, September 2 at 11:15AM.  Please note these times are approximate and the item could be heard earlier or later.  Thanks for your consideration and attention to this matter.
