Meeting about Proposed Development at Oakland and Locust

From Alderman Kovac:

Dear Neighbor:

I will be hosting a community meeting at the Urban Ecology Center, 1500 E. Park Pl. on Monday, July 24 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the proposed development described below.

The owner of 2900 N. Oakland Ave., Capri Oakland LLC, working with Klein Development, is proposing to demolish the current building located on the northeast corner of N. Oakland Ave. and E. Locust St. They would rezone this parcel and the vacant parcel north of it (2914 N. Oakland Ave.) from Local Business (LB2) to a Detailed Planned Development to allow construction of a new, mixed-use building. The new building would be five stories in height and include approximately 55 dwelling units, as well as first floor retail space along N. Oakland Ave. and indoor parking.

The community meeting will give neighbors the chance to view the development plans, ask questions, make suggestions and offer opinions.

Your input is important and I look forward to seeing you there.

Nik Kovac
