Downer Avenue Commercial Corridor Snapshot Released
The Department of City Development has worked with Alderman Nik Kovac and leaders from the Murray Hill and Historic Water Tower neighborhood associations to create the Downer Avenue Commercial Corridor Snapshot.
The Snapshot provides a summary of the current “state of affairs” in the district. This includes providing an inventory of current businesses, a review of zoning and other regulatory issues impacting development along the street, and summarizing recent public and private investment on Downer Avenue.
The Downer Avenue Commercial Corridor Snapshot can serve as a tool to be used by residents and business owners, both current and future, to provide a streamlined profile of the district, a summary of City resources available to support investment in this commercial corridor, and a reference point laying out the goals of the community for the future of Downer Avenue.
