Murray Hill on the Urban Anthropology Website

Neighbors,

The local, community-based, non-profit organization Urban Anthropology has achieved a milestone in their project to document all 191 Milwaukee neighborhoods — all of the neighborhoods are now up on the internet and they are welcoming old photos you may have of Murray Hill and other neighborhoods as they continue to build up their website.  More information is below.

All 191 Milwaukee neighborhoods are now up on the Urban Anthropology website (see below). All the neighborhood documents include (a) a short population-based history, (b) current photographs, (c) a list of nearby outings for families, (d) a compilation of businesses in the neighborhood commercial corridor back in history, (e) at least one profile of a typical resident of the past, and (f) current population demographics. In addition, over half the neighborhoods include quotations from original oral history interviews (with more coming) that were conducted by our anthropologists. About one-quarter of the neighborhoods also include profiles of celebrities who once lived there.

NOW IT THE TIME FOR EACH OF YOU TO SEND US YOUR EARLY PHOTOS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD YOU GREW UP IN, AND WE WILL ADD THEM!
