Passing on this bit of news about Lake Park from County Supervisor Broderick…

——————————
On December 5, 2014, the Milwaukee County Parks Department engaged an engineer to inspect the Concrete Arch Pedestrian Bridge over Ravine Road in Lake Park. After the inspection was completed, the engineer agreed with staff observations about the seriousness of its deterioration, the heavy large concrete cracks, movements, and earth washout.
At this time, the engineer notified the Parks Department that he
“I strongly recommend that the bridge and Ravine Road be closed immediately. This closure should remain in effect until such time that a thorough inspection and analysis of the bridge’s existing condition determines that the bridge is safe”.
The Parks Department is currently discussing options with County Officials to determine the next steps and actions.
