Winter Parking Now in Effect
Winter parking regulations for the City of Milwaukee take effect Tuesday, December 1, 2015 and remain in effect through Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
During this winter period, most residential streets require alternate side night parking, but there are exceptions to the rule. For example, overnight parking is prohibited on major arterial streets and bus routes. These streets are not posted “no overnight parking.”
Posted parking rules take precedence – check for posted signs FIRST for winter parking regulations on those streets where you plan to park. Click on mpw.milwaukee.gov/services/parking_regs.
If there are no posted signs, go to mpw.milwaukee.gov/services/winterregs for more information on the winter parking rules, or call (414) 286-CITY (2489).
Additionally, some streets on the near south side that usually allow for overnight parking on both sides of the street for most of the year, now require residents to park on alternate sides of the street overnight from December 1 to March 1. For more information on overnight winter parking rules in the City’s 5-Day Exception Parking Area (areas of the East Side and Downtown), please visit http://itmdapps.milwaukee.gov/FiveDayParkingInfo/.
