UWM’s Move Out Festival
City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works to Co-Sponsor UWM’s Move Out Festival
Material swap, music, food, and resource fair available to the public
The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works will co-sponsor the Move-Out Festival to support reuse strategies in the community while encouraging resource conservation and waste reduction. The Move Out Festival is hosted by the UWM Neighborhood Housing Office in collaboration with the UWM Office of Sustainability.
The details:
- Event held on Saturday, May 18th from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. in the Science Building parking area on Kenwood Ave
- Materials swap, music, food, and resource fair open to the public
- The public is welcome to donate reusable items the day of the event, browse selection of collected items, and take home for free. No transportation of items available to public
- Event on May 18 will take place rain or shine
- UWM students may contact Neighborhood Housing Office to request pickup (housing@uwm.edu). Pick up service is not available to the public.
- Attendance to festival is not restricted to UW – Milwaukee students and staff
Not Accepted items include, but are not limited to the following: Batteries, Construction, building, or hazardous materials, cleaning supplies (unsealed), CRT TV’s (aka “Tube” TV’s), fireworks, fluorescent bulbs, gasoline, kerosene, lamp oil, matches, non-flammable gas (i.e. helium), vegetable oil, and weapons.
