Update on recent carjackings from Alderman Kovac:
Dear Neighbors,
In the last week, the Milwaukee Police Department has arrested four teens in connection with a series of carjackings and attempted carjackings that have occurred on the city’s East Side. Together with UWM Police and Shorewood Police, they are working to put a stop to the crime spree, and more arrests are expected soon.
In the meantime, please take care to be aware of your surroundings, and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately. This series of offenses began earlier this month, and there have been no serious injuries reported as a result of these crimes.
The series of crimes includes incidents on:
- November 5 in the 3000 block of N. Prospect Avenue
- November 5 in the 1700 block of E. Newton Avenue, Shorewood
- November 6 in the 1800 block of N. Warren
- November 8 in the 2000 block of N. Summit
- November 8 in the 2600 block of N. Summit
- November 8 in the 2500 block of E. Locust Street
- November 15 in the 2700 block of E. Menlo Boulevard, Shorewood
- November 15 in the 1100 block of E. Hamilton Street
