Upcoming Events at Lake Park

Lake Park Concert on July 1: “Musical Monday” begins the 16th season on July 1 with a performance by the Big Top Brass Band. Under the baton of Dr. Nicholas J. Contorno of Marquette University, the Big Top Brass will present the music of America. Concert will go on, rain or shine. Musical Monday concerts are from 6:30-8 p.m. These concerts are FREE and open to the public. All concerts take place at the Lake Park Summer Stage in Lake Park Picnic Area #3, just south of the playground and tennis courts. For a convenient dinner option, check out Good Food Dude, a Milwaukee food truck that plans to be on site during the 2013 Musical Mondays and Wonderful Wednesdays performing season! They will also provide cold (and hot) beverage options. These enjoyable free concerts are presented in cooperation with Milwaukee County Parks, with a generous donation from the Coles Family Foundation.

Celebrate July 4th at Lake Park with lots of great family fun and fireworks. The 2013 Theme is “ United We Stand Under One Flag” Dress your bikes, join the boy and girl games and enjoy a summery ice cream treat. The Parade will start at 9:00 am from Hartford School (at Maryland and Hartford Ave.) and from Maryland Avenue School(at Prospect and Bradford Ave.) and progress down Newberry Blvd. to Lake Park where all can join in the ice cream social. Other activities include the Boys and Girls games (10 am), Doll Buggy, Trike and Coaster Parade (11 am), AWE children’s art project and sidewalk chalk drawing (11:00 am) and the decorated bicycle parade (11:30 am). Fireworks are schedule in the evening around 9:15 pm.
