Upcoming East Side Events

Lake Park Friends Musical Mondays and Wonderful Wednesdays is a series of concerts geared for children and their families. These concerts are FREE and open to the public.   All concerts take place at the new Lake Park Summer Stage, just south of the playground and tennis courts.  These enjoyable concerts are presented in cooperation with Milwaukee County Parks, with a generous donation from the Coles Family Foundation.

Musical Mondays – July 21st – My Sweet Patootie  6:30-8 pm
This Canadian Trio’s quirky blend of vintage jazz, country western, old-timey swing and blues, promises a toe-tapping  evening that will make you smile all the way home.

Wonderful Wednesday – July 23rd – Freshwater 6:30-7:30 pm   
Freshwater is exciting bluegrass!  The kids will jump, spin and dance!  This five-piece group plays both traditional bluegrass and original folk compositions on banjo, mandolin, Dobro and guitar.

2nd Annual Eastside Garden Tour – Sunday, July 27, 10AM – 4PM    This is a FREE garden tour of 26 participating gardens located within Eastside Milwaukee Community Council (EMCC) boundaries (Edgewood on the North; North Ave on the South; Lake Michigan on the East and Milwaukee River on the West.) Maps giving locations of all gardens will be at the Urban Ecology Center (UEC) and at the Lighthouse and are available at the East Side Milwaukee Garden Tour facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/EastsideMilwaukeeGardenTour

Vendors will be at the Lighthouse as well. The event is from 10:00am – 4:00pm—rain or shine!!  Those wishing to bike a portion of the route with Alderman Kovac and Mayor Barrett, meet them at the UEC at 9:45am.
