Super Reader Program – Summer Reading Kickoff
Remember that the 2013 Summer Reading Program begins Monday, May 13 but sign-up can be done throughout the spring and summer. Visit any Milwaukee Public Library to sign-up to become a Super Reader- all kids 0-12 years of age and their parents can participate. Receive a yard sign and earn food coupons, free admission to fun places around town and a free book. Pick up a calendar of events to see all the library has to offer this summer. On Saturday, May 18, come to Super Reader Sign-up at Central Library. See Sunset Playhouse present “Super” at 10:30 a.m. Sign up for summer reading and do a craft from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., then join Artists Working in Education from 2-3:30 p.m. for an imaginative art activity.
On Wednesday, May 15, come to Lunch & Learn: Tips and Tricks for Raising a Super Reader. This will be a fun, interactive and informative session at the Central Library with tips and tricks for getting a child to read during the summer. A free box lunch will be provided courtesy of Cousins Subs. Space is limited. Registration is required. Call 414.286.3011. Doors open at noon, presentation from 12:15-12:45 p.m., book browsing until 1 p.m. in Meeting Room 1.
