RUHS Career Volunteers Needed

A request for volunteers from Riverside University High School

Dear RUHS Friend,

As part of the college readiness efforts of Riverside University High School our 9th grade students will be participating in Academic and Career Planning (ACP) Conferences.  ACP Conferences provide a wonderful opportunity to reach out to students and help them focus their efforts and plan for their post-secondary success. In order to be successful Riverside University High School is searching for volunteers to hold these conferences with 9th grade students.

We are asking volunteers to meet with students one-on-one and discuss their strengths, current academic progress, their career/post-secondary goals, and develop a plan to reach these goals.  Each volunteer will be provided an ACP template to complete with students, the students career cruising portfolio and the student’s performance data to review with them.  Volunteers are asked to give time during the week of April 18th, 2016.  If you are available and are interested in supporting Riverside University High School, we are looking to serve students at the following times:

Monday, April 18th; 9:15 am – 12:16 pm and 1:53-2:45 pm
Tuesday, April 19th; 7:30 – 9:25am, 10:25 am – 12:16 pm, and 1:53-2:45 pm
Wednesday, April 20th; 7:30 – 9:25am, 10:25 am- 12:16 pm, and 1:53-2:45 pm

Please let me know if you are able to assist in these conference. A brief training will be provided fifteen minutes each day prior to the conference start time in the Riverside Library.  Your support will be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Natalie Anderson
