Murray Hill November Membership Meeting: Tuesday, Nov. 26
Dear Murray Hill Members:
Happy Thanksgiving to you all and as you prepare to spend time with family and friends this week I hope that you will spend a few minutes with your Murray Hill neighbors and friends.
At this month’s meeting (Tuesday, November 26), we welcome Supervisor Gerry Broderick, who has prepared a detailed presentation on Milwaukee County’s recent budget. If you read yesterday’s article in the Journal Sentinel, you would know that County Executive Abele issued 39 vetoes with little chance of being sustained given the near unanimous passage of the budget by the board. The budget is the clearest sign of what a governing body holds important and there are certainly different goals and no lack of strife in County government displayed in the budget, so this gives you an excellent opportunity to hear Gerry’s views on the process and direction of the County for the next year; and make your feelings heard.
As usual, we meet at the Urban Ecology Center, 1500 E. Park Place at 7:00 pm and around Gerry’s presentation we will give you updates on local developments at UWM, the city, local shopping areas and in the neighborhood in general that affect you.
