Hello Neighbors,
We hope you will join us this week Thursday, June 23 @ 7PM via Zoom for this month’s Murray Hill Meeting. Our agenda includes:
- MPD: Officers from District 1 will provide us with information on crime trends in our area, and the new Assistant District Attorney for our district, Dax Odom, will introduce himself (Kelly Hedge is leaving the DA’s office).
- Immy’s African Cuisine: Welcome Immy Kaggwa, chef-owner of this new restaurant open since April at 2847 North Oakland Avenue. She previously served her East African family recipes out of tents and a food truck at festivals and farmers markets, and her brick and mortar location seats up to 80 people. Join us to learn more about this new business and check out the menu at https://immysafricancuisine.com/menu/
- Ryan Clancy: Ryan Clancy, candidate for Wisconsin State Assembly District 19 (position currently held by Jonathon Brostoff) will introduce himself to us ahead of the upcoming August 9 primary. For more information, see: www.clancyforassembly.com.
- Common Ground: Deacon Michelle Mooney from St. Mark’s Episcopal and Bob Connolly of Common Ground will join us to share information on the important work being done by Common Ground, a non-partisan group of citizens in Southeast Wisconsin dedicated to identifying problems and solutions in our community to bring about positive change. The organization has the support of many churches, schools, businesses and groups and currently focuses on important issues such as education, tutoring programs, reckless driving, workforce development, broadband access, reducing gun violence and increasing diversity in fire and police departments.
