Don’t miss the 10th Annual Eggs-travaganza: Saturday, April 19th at 9AM
We have some extra treats for this year’s egg hunt. The Easter Bunny will be joining us to welcome and pose for pictures with any interested egg hunters prior to and after the egg hunt. Walgreens on Oakland Avenue near Locust St. has sponsored this special visitor and is willing to develop for free a 4 x 6 picture of this memorable meeting.
Of course, we have many, many candy filled plastic eggs and real eggs designed by many neighborhood volunteers including some volunteers from the Catholic Residence. We also have unique ceramic and specially designed plastic eggs by artists from Murray Hill Pottery Works to fill your egg baskets – you won’t find these eggs at any other egg hunt!
The fun begins this Saturday (April 19th ) at 9 am in the Children’s play area of Riverside Park. Come a few minutes earlier if you want to have a picture taken with Mr. Bunny. Bring your containers, cameras, smiles, kids and grandkids for our annual egg hunt.
Still Time to Share Your Creative Side!!
We still need some help to dye the dozens of real eggs for Saturdays’ hunt. Eggs can be picked up at Murray Hill Pottery works (2456 N. Murray Ave.) and the final creatively (or not) dyed eggs are needed back for hiding by Friday night, April 18th, by 6 PM. The eggs will be in the entry way of the shop with a sign-out sheet. We have several dozens of already hard boiled eggs so you can just go to the fun part. Murray Hill Pottery Works is open Tues-Friday from 12 noon to 9 pm for egg pick-up.
If you have an hour on Saturday morning (~8 am) join the crew at Riverside Park to hide the eggs and stay a few minutes more at 9 am to see the smiles on the faces of the kids and their parents. It is a fun community event!
