Downer Classic Pro Criterium Bike Races
The Downer Classic Pro Criterium Bike Races are coming to the neighborhood on this Saturday, June 25th from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm. These Pro-Am bike races are part of the Tour of America’s Dairyland Cycling Series.
The full day of racing also features a series of popular kids’ races (starting at 9:50 am), a Belgian Beer Festival, a Keg Race, and the famous Ben’s Cycle “UltraPrime,” as well as a full slate of racing from morning ’til evening. New this year to Downer, two fixed gear races, part of the only fixed gear criterium in the Midwest. Food, beer, and family fun complement the twilight Pro race featuring racers from around the world.
Be aware that the course will be closed to traffic during the race time of 9:30 -10 (Downer Avenue to Park Place to Lake Drive to Bradford Avenue . Plan your activities and driving in the area.
In support of the Downer Classic races and community events in the neighborhood, the Murray Hill Neighborhood Association sponsored a dasherboard and primes. Come and have a nice day in the neighborhood.
