Downer Avenue: Neighborhood meeting with DCD and Alderman Kovac
From Alderman Kovac:
——————————
Dear Downer Avenue Neighbors,
I am hosting a neighborhood meeting in conjunction with the Department of City Development to discuss the retail revitalization of Downer Avenue. The city will present a comprehensive analysis of retail conditions on Downer Avenue, including a summary of recent public and private investments, market data and a description of city programs available to assist retail businesses in this commercial corridor.
Busy shopping and entertainment destinations on Downer Avenue improve the quality of life and property values for all residents nearby. The purpose of this meeting will be to provide neighbors with the relevant information about what factors determine retail success on our street. Members of both neighborhood associations that border Downer Avenue—Murray Hill and Historic Watertower—have been partners in designing the presentation and meeting format. After DCD presents this snapshot of the commercial corridor, we will have a conversation about our goals and wishes for retail on Downer Avenue and which policies and actions will best achieve them.
Please join us on Wednesday, April 29th at 6 p.m. inside the Community Room of the new East Library, 2320 North Cramer Street.
Your input is important, and I look forward to seeing you there,
Nik Kovac
3rd District Alderman
