Presentation on Broken Windows Theory and Crime
Nationally renowned criminologist, George Kelling, will give a presentation at UWM on Thursday, October 24 from 6-8 pm in the Music Recital Hall, 2400 E. Kenwood Blvd.
Kelling is best known for co-developing the broken windows theory in 1996 and co-authored “Fixing Broken Windows: Restoring Order and Reducing Crime in our Communities”. He will talk about the broken windows theory and his next book, which will cover policing in Milwaukee from 1950 to the present.
Kelling is a graduate of, and former professor at, UWM’s Helen Bader School of Social Welfare. Today, he is an emeritus professor at Rutgers University and Northeastern University and senior fellow at The Manhattan University.
